Lithium-Ion Battery (LIB) featured as high energy density, long lifetime, low self-discharge rate, no memory effect and environmentally friendly etc., LIB is the core of the development of EV, while the safety, performance, life, and costs of LIB are mainly determined by the battery materials. In April 2011, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) published the "Guiding Catalogue of Industrial Structure Adjustment (2011 version)," in which the LIB and key materials for the EV and energy storage, including cathode, anode, separator and electrolyte are listed in the encouraged projects. "2011 China Li-Ion Battery and Key Materials Forum” will be held in Dec. 15-16, 2011 in Suzhou, China. In upcoming conference, the national industrial policies and planning as well as its impacts on battery and materials industry; EV and energy storage battery industry outlook; advanced LIB materials and key technologies as well as its applications; the development potential of different types of LIB materials; update and outlook of multinationals invest in China; innovation and industrial updates of cathode materials, anode materials, separators and electrolytes will be discussed.
